Transportation of equipment for petrochemical plant construction
Total number of heavy-lift and oversized items delivered in the course of the project - 240.
Most of the equipment was moved by rail via St.-Petersburg to jobsite, including a unique shipment of a DA-1402 column that had weight and dimensions unprecedented for Russian & CIS railways (Length - 65.2 m; Diameter of 3.0 m; Weight - 144,0t).
Over 20 heavy-lift and oversized items that could not be transported by rail, were delivered to jobsite by trucks via the port of Turkmenbashi.
Some of the items transported by road were over 6.0 m in height and weighed over 150 t; trucking distance - 2200 km).
Prior to the shipment, our experts worked out transportation schemes for all heavy-lift and oversized items, determined and coordinated with the Client dimensions of each item to ensure safe and effective transportation, prepared plans of cargo loading on rail-wagons, worked out cargo lashing schemes, manufactured all necessary lashing materials, completed a survey of over 300 bridges along the overland portion of the shipment and performed reinforcement of bridges where required.
The whole scope of work was completed by the Felbermayr Group experts.
